Rescheduled 10-mile TT at Snainton on Thurs 13th June

We had to cancel our second TT of the year – a 10-miler on the Snainton course – due to heavy rain and standing water. So I've rescheduled it for this Thursday, 13th June. Sign on by 7pm for a 7.15pm start. This is a handicap event so there are points up for grabs.

VOLUNTEERS NEED TO RUN THIS EVENT
I'm looking for THREE volunteers to help run this: one to hold the watches, one to help the timekeeper at the start and finish, and one to marshal the first right-hander. I've sat out three TTs already so would like to ride this one. (Although I'll put the signs out etc.) Please let me know if you can help. The forecast isn't great at the moment: heavy rain earlier in the day giving way to lighter rain when we're due to race. (50% chance of light rain.)

AND THE NEXT ONE
On Sunday morning (16th June) we've got a 25-mile TT on the Irton/Yedingham course. Sign on by 7.45am (you read that right) for an 8am start.
This event ALSO NEEDS THREE VOLUNTEERS. We should be all done by 9:30 at the latest, so you could always join one of the road rides in Ayton if the Sunday morning rides go off half an hour later.

This on the Castle Howard course. Sign on by 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start. I'm not sure where the sign-on place is for this event, so I've asked Malton Wheelers. The weather is looking even worse for this event, with an 80% chance of heavy rain and a yellow rain warning.

It's looking like this afternoon's heavy rain will pass over and we'll just be racing on wet roads with a few spits and spots of rain (MetOffice gives 50% chance of light rain). So assume the event is on unless I say otherwise. If it's cancelled, I'll send out a notification by WhatsApp and Twitter, and the Twitter one will be visible on the RCC home page.

Note that while we now have enough people to run this evening's event, I have NO ONE for the 25-mile TT on Sunday morning. If no steps up by Saturday evening, that event will be cancelled.

It looked like the 10 mile TT at Snainton on 13th June, already rescheduled once due to the rain, was going to be rained off again. In the end, the weather held off other than a few spits and spots, and the conditions were actually pretty good.

Matilda Stringer got a PB and earned maximum points on handicap, while Dave Schubert and Ozzy Stringer both scored course PBs and came second and third on handicap respectively. Mark Williams, still in good form after Calpe, narrowly missed a course PB to come fourth on handicap and first on actual time. Jasmine Townend was also a little outside her course PB, but still managed to beat the recovering Simon Walker on handicap.
