This Thursday (16th May) we’ve got a 10-mile TT on the Pickering-Malton road, at the later time of 7.30pm. (This is to allow commuter traffic to clear.) This is an interclub event so there should be a reasonable sized field. However, it also means that I need more help to run it.
Currently, I have ONE volunteeer (Paul Marr). I need FOUR to run it: two at the start, two at the end. Your club needs YOU! Please let me (Dan) know if you can spare a little time to help out. You’ll be provided with a nice yellow bib and instructions, and you won’t be responsible for writing the times down at the finish.
There is one further complication: there’s a notice that there MAY be roadworks - more surface dressing! - on the A169 this week, possibly when we’re due to compete. Clearly, we can’t run the event if there’s roadworks, and I won’t run it if there are drifts of loose chippings either. I’ve contacted the police to see if we can move the event to Snainton if need be. I’ll keep you updated on here and via WhatsApp.
But I still need volunteers. C’mon, don’t leave me hanging.
I know a big bunch of the fast road group will be in Spain so won't be available.
